Ralf Resch from VITAKO (Germany) is the new President of Euritas

New leadership focuses on broadening Euritas membership and strengthening its clout.

Ralf Resch, Managing Director of the German VITAKO, was appointed new President of the European Association of Public IT Service Providers (Euritas) in March 2022. The election was held by all member organizations using the blockchain-secured voting tool “BRZ eDem”. Soren Ulrich Vulff (Statens IT), Sasa Bilic (APIS IT) and Roland Ledinger (Bundesrechenzentrum) strengthen Mr. Resch as Vice Presidents. The period of the new Euritas leadership will last two years. “Euritas is a crucial platform for the cooperation of public IT service providers in Europe and I am honoured to be entrusted with the position as its president,” said Resch.

New member acquisitions

Despite an already diverse representation of member organization from many EU member states, Euritas still is not connected to all public IT services providers in Europe. The aim in the coming years will be to build relationships to organisations in those countries and win them as new Euritas members to bring even more different experiences and viewpoints into the association. Mr. Resch wants to make this a priority for his tenure: “In order to broaden our membership, we need to increase the value for our members, e.g., by facilitating participation in European projects.”

Bringing Euritas expertise into the political process

“Substantial decisions are being taken on the European level on cloud technology, cybersecurity, the use of open-source software and more. Euritas can bring the expertise of public IT service providers into these discussions” Resch points out. At its Summit 2021 in Brussels Euritas had fruitful conversations with representatives from European institutions and wants to continue to bring the viewpoints of public IT services providers to the European level.
