Shared Services for Government (UK) joins EURITAS, strengthening European Public IT Cooperation
Brussels, September 2025 — The Shared Services for Government (SSfG) part of the Cabinet Office in the United Kingdom Government has officially joined the European Association of Public IT Service Providers (EURITAS), becoming the association’s newest member.
EURITAS now counts 14 member organizations from across Europe, collectively representing more than 50,000 IT professionals and delivering critical public services to almost 200 million citizens. With the addition of the UK’s Shared Services for Government, the network gains a partner with unique expertise in consolidating government back-office operations, financial management, and HR systems through large-scale digital platforms.
The membership was formally announced at the EURITAS Summit 2025 in Brussels, which brings together representatives from member organization from 11 European countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
“Joining EURITAS allows us to exchange knowledge and best practices with some of the most innovative public IT providers in Europe,” said Matt McKeown from SSfG. “Our ambition is to contribute to the collective resilience, efficiency, and citizen-focus of digital government services across the continent.”
EURITAS leadership welcomed the new member, emphasizing the importance of cross-border collaboration in today’s rapidly evolving ICT landscape. “The inclusion of Shared Services for Government broadens our expertise and creates new opportunities for joint projects in cloud, AI, and cybersecurity. With the UK’s membership, EURITAS further solidifies its role as the leading European forum for public ICT providers,” said the EURITAS President Saša Bilić.
The UK has been advancing its Shared Services Strategy, designed to simplify processes across government departments, reduce duplication, and improve efficiency through standardised platforms. By joining EURITAS, SSfG will now be able to align its work with European peers and contribute to discussions on digital sovereignty, sustainable IT, and resilient infrastructure.
