Carina Zehetmaier is an award-winning AI entrepreneur, keynote speaker, lawyer, and expert on human rights and democratization. After representing the European Union and Austria at the United Nations in Geneva, she founded her first AI company in 2019.
Today, she is the Founder and CEO of PaiperOne, a company that trains employees in AI literacy and supports organizations with an AI compliance platform to meet ethical and legal requirements under the EU AI Act.
Since 2024, she has been a member of the Advisory Board to the Austrian Federal Government and Chair of the “Artificial Intelligence” Working Group at Austrian Standards.
In 2019, she initiated the network “Women in AI Austria”, serving as its President from 2020 to 2025.
For her commitment to promoting a socially responsible and human-rights-based development and use of artificial intelligence – with a particular focus on empowering women – she was awarded the Austrian Women’s Prize (Grete Rehor Prize) in 2024 and was named Personality of Digital Humanism in 2025.
